Ta'if Regional Airport is an airport in Ta'if, Saudi Arabia. Despite its name, it also offers many international flights as well. The airport is located 30 km to the east of Taif and 70 km from Mecca. The airport is considered important in Saudi aviation history as it witnessed the first landing of Ibn Saud's plane, founder of the Kingdom. Despite being named as a "Regional" airport, the airport actually has international flights destinations in half a dozen countries outside of Saudi Arabia.
The airport is close to Al Hawiyah, At Ta'if, Mecca, Turabah, Jeddah, Al Bahah, Al Qunfudhah, Qal`at Bishah, Medina, Yanbu`, Port Sudan, Abha, Khamis Mushayt, Sawakin, Tokar, As Sulayyil, Jazan, Shalatin, Layla, Massawa and other locations from Sudan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Eritrea.
