Wizz Air announced on June 17th the opening of its first Russian base in Saint Petersburg, which represents the 32 base in the airline network.
From September 2020, 1 Airbus A320 aircraft will be based at Pulkovo Airport. Along with the establishment of the new base, Wizz Air will launch 5 new routes to 5 countries with prices starting at 25 euro.
First Wizz Air flight took off from Saint Petersburg in 2017 and further expanded the network in January 2020.
Now and to date the lowcoster has carried over 250 000 passengers from and to Saint Petersburg.
The Airbus A320 aircraft will support the operations of 5 new routes to: Salzburg (Austria), Oslo (Norway), Copenhagen (Denmark), Stockholm Skavsta (Sweden) and Malta.
Together with the new routes, in September Wizz Air will operate 11 non-stop services from Pulkovo airport.
Wizz Air has chosen Pulkovo airport due its unique market conditions for foreign airlines. The complex of unique measures includes the seventh freedom traffic rights regime and free e-visas for tourists from 53 countries to visit St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
The new flights will start in September 2020 and will be operated according to the bellow schedule.
