Just weeks after Ryanair announced its expansion in Ukraine Wizz Air is bringing 14 new routes on the same direction - Italy.
With the new services, Wizz Air is offering passengers even cheaper travel opportunities to Rome, Milan, Venice, Naples, Verona, Catania and Bologna from Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Odesa and Zaporizhzhia.
Wizz Air expansion come two weeks after Ryanair said it would launch new routes between Ukraine and Italy as part of its winter 2020-2021 and summer 2021 schedules.
The struggle for Italy market share follows Ernest’s termination of operations in January 2020.
Ernest carried half a million passengers between Italy and Ukraine in 2019 across 14 routes. It was the second biggest operator in this niche, the first being the flag carrier - Ukraine International Airlines.
The new routes are to be launched by Wizz between August 2020 and April 2021. From August 14, the lowcoster will connect Kyiv (Zhulyany Airport) with Venice Treviso and Naples three times per week as well as new routes between its new bases in Lviv and Milan Malpensa.
The new flights will start gradually in August 2020 and will be operated according to the schedule below. The schedule may change later.
