Bacau Airport is an international airport located 5 km away from Bacau city center. The airport has long been the base for Blue Air, being the only company to operate scheduled flights. Between August and October 2020, the airport was closed for modernization of the platform, runways and taxiways, and on October 18, 2020, George Enescu Airport resumed its activity. More than 35 million euros have been invested in the new airport infrastructure. Starting with October 2020, George Enescu Airport becomes the base for Wizz Air, which starts operations with 12 direct flights.
